The D5 is a construction kit version of the well-known D6 steam engine – now offered in a new variant with burner gel operation. The kit provides hands-on enjoyment for technical enthusiasts and offers a deeper understanding of how a real steam engine works. A specially adapted burner slide ensures safe and efficient use of this modern fuel.
Like the original, the D5 features a horizontally mounted, high-gloss polished brass boiler, a side-mounted oscillating cylinder, and a classically technical design. With a stable base and medium-sized water reservoir, the D5 is ideal for powering Wilesco accessories with low to medium resistance.

Note: Before first operation, make sure to oil all moving parts thoroughly. Once the cylinder has run in, the engine operates reliably and produces the characteristic operating sound. When the boiler is full, short pauses may be needed to rebuild steam pressure.
