The Wilesco Old Smoky D375 Steam Roller Kit
This D375 kit has the same "features" as the pre-assembled steam roller. With this kit, you will experience first-hand how steam engines are constructed and work step by step to combine all the individual parts. The kit can also be assembled well by inexperienced steam engine enthusiasts, thanks to the detailed, richly illustrated assembly manual. The approximate time required to assemble the steam roller is three to four hours. It is favorable if it can be assembled without interruption. All individual parts of the steam tractor have been subjected to a careful quality control before leaving our steam engine factory.
Please note: The kit for our Old Smoky steam roller is not available in the black/nickel color combination!
We have been producing the Old Smoky steam roller in this form since the mid-1960s, it was the first mobile model steam engine in the Wilesco program.
This model of a mobile steam engine was modeled after a widely used steam roller that served in road construction until the 1950s of this century.
The color scheme has not changed since the 60s!
Steam roller usable both mobile and stationary
Walkway, chain steering and gear coupling are standard details of our Old Smoky. The coupling - operated on the left side of the cab through a rod - allows the steam roller to be operated as a stationary steam engine. The Old Smoky, with its 230 cc boiler, is strong enough to pull accessories in mobile operation and drive drive models in stationary operation. The aluminum roller wheels of this steam roller are anodized and painted.
For indoor and outdoor operation
Our Wilesco D365 steam roller is suitable for both outdoor and indoor operation. As the Wilesco D375 has a flywheel that can be started in both directions, it can drive forward and backward, and the steering is controlled by a steering chain. During operation, the steam roller's chimney smokes authentically. The running time with a charge of original Witabs dry fuel is approximately 15 minutes. When using other dry fuel brands, the running time may be slightly less.

2 WITABS dry fuels are included with this steam engine, but please do not forget to provide fuel replenishment for optimal steam enjoyment with your D375.

Wilesco Steam Engine Oil - Perfectly Matched for Your Wilesco Steam Engine Everyone who loves steam engines knows that a steam engine cannot run without steam engine oil. Regular and sufficient oiling with our original Wilesco steam engine oil ensures a smooth operation of your power engine and a long lifespan of the product you have purchased. The oil is used for lubricating pistons and cylinders as well as all other bearings. It is important not to use just any oil, because the correct consistency of the oil is crucial. Depending on the type of oil used, the oil may become hard, too thick or too thin. Therefore, Wilesco offers its special steam engine oil, whose composition is perfectly matched to all Wilesco steam engines. With our steam engine oil, you can be sure you are making the right choice!
Wilesco Drive Belts in a Bag These drive belts are required to operate our drive models. One bag contains five drive spirals. The spirals are made of spring wire and can be closed into a belt by twisting them together. The drive belts come in widths of 2 mm and 2.5 mm. The shorter drive spirals are 26 cm long. However, drive spirals 50 cm long are more suitable for simultaneous operation of several Wilesco models, allowing for a more flexible setup.

Mechanical Cable Remote Control Z361 This is suitable for the Old Smoky steam roller and the steam tractor. It is also usable for the steam fire truck D305. A handy metal handle and a sturdy ground pull make it easy to operate. The control is clamped onto the steering wheel of the steam roller or steam tractor using a spring. The length is 100 cm, the width 15 cm, and the height 20 cm. The net weight is 0.1 kg.
