D21: Elegant Beauty in Red and Black
The D21 is a stationary steam engine featuring a double-acting, fixed-position brass cylinder.
Its technical specifications match those of the D20, but what sets this machine apart is its striking red and black color scheme that gives it a particularly elegant appearance:
All metal parts are painted in red and black. The flywheel is painted red as well. High-gloss polished brass accents round off the distinguished look of this engine.
A unique technical feature is the built-in feedwater pump, exclusive to the D21 within the Wilesco range.
Water pump allows refilling during operation
This pump allows the boiler to be refilled with water while the machine is running. The condensate is collected in a tray below the chimney, causing realistic steam to rise. The steam output can be manually regulated using a shut-off valve.
It takes about 5 minutes after ignition for the machine to build up enough pressure to start. The D21 then has enough power to run multiple drive models simultaneously. This clearly demonstrates the conversion of thermal energy into mechanical motion. For even more fun, connect the optional Dynamo M66 or Dynamo with Lantern M66/2 to generate electricity and light!

Wilesco Drive Belts in a Bag These drive belts are required to operate our drive models. One bag contains five drive spirals. The spirals are made of spring wire and can be closed into a belt by twisting them together. The drive belts come in widths of 2 mm and 2.5 mm. The shorter drive spirals are 26 cm long. However, drive spirals 50 cm long are more suitable for simultaneous operation of several Wilesco models, allowing for a more flexible setup.
